Usability Testing

Usability testing is a formal study in which 10 to 12 participants are observed individually performing tasks with a system. Findings and recommendations are made according to performance data gathered during the test:

  • number of errors
  • task times
  • problems
  • assists

The purpose of the usability test is to identify design flaws. A usability test is the only way you can be reliably sure that your design will be accepted, used, and will meet the users’ needs.
